TC Activities 10th Trilateral Culture Content Industry Forum was held in Tokyo, Japan 2017.06.28 ~ 2017.06.30

The 10th Trilateral Culture Content Industry Forum was held in Tokyo, Japan from June 28 to 30, 2017. Delegations headed by Mr. MASAKI Ogushi, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan (Chair), Mr. XIANG Zhaolun, Vice Minister of Culture of China, and Mr. NA Jongmin, First Vice Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea participated in the 10th Forum. Mr. LEE Jong-heon, Deputy Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended the Forum as an observer.

 

At the trilateral meeting on June 28, the three parties discussed policy measures to facilitate trilateral culture content exchange and cooperation. The Vice Ministers signed the Joint Declaration of the 10th Trilateral Culture Content Industry Forum which stipulates 1) the promotion of international co-production, 2) support for international cooperation among companies of the three countries, 3) establishment of a joint portal site with the database of the trilateral culture contents, and 4) joint promotion of the public awareness on copyright protection.

 

Following the trilateral meeting, Open Seminar and Public-Private Sector Joint Session took place on June 29, during which government and culture content industry experts examined recent trends of the industries and shared best practices and ideas for cooperation. The TCS at the Joint Session delivered a presentation on the Trilateral Miss Granny Special Movie Talk held on November 19, 2016 that demonstrates the case of effective co-production among the three countries.

 

On behalf of the TCS, Deputy Secretary-General LEE Jong-heon at the Joint Session delivered a remark highlighting the importance of the trilateral culture content industry cooperation which plays crucial role in enhancing mutual understanding among the people of the three countries and expressed TCS’ willingness to fully support the promotion of the trilateral culture content industry cooperation.

 

Content Tokyo 2017, one of the biggest culture content fair in Japan, was held back-to-back with the 10th Forum from June 28 to 30. Culture content companies of the three countries organized a joint promotion booth and conducted business matching events. 

 

The next Forum will be convened in China, 2018.
