Seminar & Forum Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup Addressed 2023 China (Anyang) International Conference of Chinese Characters

On October 19, Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup of Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of the 2023 China (Anyang) International Conference of Chinese Characters. Themed “Chinese Characters · Civilization · Technology · Future,” the Conference was hosted by the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and the People’s Government of Henan Province of China. TCS has been the supporter of the Conference.
During his remarks, Secretary-General LEE highlighted the important role of the Chinese characters in shaping their respective civilization of China, Japan and Korea, as well as the close cultural and economic bonds between the three countries. He shared his aspiration that more culture and people-to-people exchanges shall be carried out under the framework of the Trilateral Cooperation, so as to nourish a future-oriented trilateral relationship that would bring more tangible benefits to the people of the region. In this regard, he reiterated TCS’ missions to further promote the Lasting Peace, Common Prosperity, and Shared Culture in this region.
After the opening ceremony, Secretary-General LEE received an exclusive interview by People’s Daily, China News Service and local media outlets of Henan Province.
China (Anyang) International Conference of Chinese Characters is a biannually event starting from 2015, brought together with prominent experts on written characters and Chinese character culture from all over the world to have academic exchanges and discuss relevant research.
