Others TCS held the “China-Japan-ROK Youth Dialogue”

The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) held the “China-Japan-ROK Youth Dialogue” on November 14, 2015 with the Japan Center for International Exchange (JCIE) as the co-host and East Asia Foundation (EAF) as the sponsor. The event was held in collaboration with the youth organizations consist of undergraduate and graduate students of the three countries, including the Japan-based Knowledge Investment Programs (KIP) and the Seoul-based multinational organization of Global Asia Leadership Forum (GALF).
The Dialogue began with the opening remarks by the Secretary-General YANG Houlan who wished for the fruitful and meaningful discussion among the three countries’ youths. 30 university students who were divided into three mixed-nationality groups shared understandings on the three countries’ situation and prospects of youth issues of education, work, and gender role, and discussed ideas of the trilateral cooperation in dealing with such matters.
Based on the outcome of the group discussion, each group delivered presentation on 1) Problem of the Early English Education (Education), 2) Job Searching Cultures of the Three Countries (Work), and 3) Balance between Family Life and Work (Gender Role), which was followed by the brisk discussion on the floor moderated by the Deputy Secretary-General UMEZAWA Akima.
The “China-Japan-ROK Youth Dialogue” not only facilitated the networking among the youths of the three countries but also the understanding of the similarities and differences of the issues that are closely related to their course of life, which motivated participants to think of cooperative ways to build up better future of the three countries.
