On August 9, 2024, the closing ceremony of the Trilateral Youth Summit (TYS) 2024 took place at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The event was co-hosted by the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, co-organized by the Institute for Global Strategy and Cooperation (IGSC) and the Division of International Studies at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, with support from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Japan and China.

Under the theme "Celebrating 25 Years of Trilateral Cooperation: Shaping a Mutually Beneficial Future for the People of the Three Countries," approximately 50 undergraduate and graduate students from China, Japan, and Korea participated in a Model Trilateral Summit. The summit was attended by around 60 audience, primarily youth, and featured officials from the three Foreign Ministries and Core Team Members of the Trilateral Youth Exchange Network (TYEN) as advisors and judges.

During the closing ceremony, Secretary-General LEE Heesup spoke highly of the participants for their dedication and teamwork in completing the five-day program. He highlighted that TYS2024 successfully fostered friendly relations among the youth of the three countries and expressed confidence that the friendships and ideas formed will guide future collaborations. He also reaffirmed TCS's commitment to sustaining the spirit of TYS2024 and encouraging further youth collaboration.

At the model summit, student delegations from China, Japan, Korea, and TCS presented the outcomes of their discussions, moderated by the head of the model ROK delegation. The committee chairs also outlined future directions for trilateral cooperation in areas such as Sustainable Development & Disaster Relief, Economic Cooperation & Trade, Digital Transformation & Public Health, and People-to-People Exchange. The summit concluded with the adoption of the "Joint Statement of 2024 Trilateral Youth Summit."

Throughout the five-day program, participants engaged in cultural exchanges and visited international organizations such as the UNDRR, UNESCAP, and the Global Climate Fund (GCF), gaining valuable experience in trilateral cooperation. On August 7, a joint session with the Young Scholars Forum (YSF), another youth program hosted by TCS, was held at the TCS International Conference Hall, where participants engaged in discussions led by young scholars from the three countries, building networks to address common regional interests.

The Trilateral Youth Summit (TYS), established in 2014 to promote mutual understanding and friendship among the youth of China, Japan, and Korea, rotates its venue annually among the three countries. TYS 2025 is scheduled to take place in Japan.
