On February 15, 2024, Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup visited the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) office in Seoul, ROK, and met with Ms. PARK Jung-Sook, WeGO Secretary-General. The heads of both organizations introduced the main organizational missions and functions and extended invitations to each other for the future events. TCS and WeGO affirmed that there was large space for cooperation and committed to strengthen partnership via diverse projects and platforms.
WeGO, founded by 50 member cities in 2010, is a membership-based international association of local governments, smart tech solution providers, and institutions committed to the transformation of cities into smart sustainable cities through facilitating public-private partnerships (PPP). TCS has fostered a close partnership with WeGO since the co-hosting of the Webinar on CJK Smart Cities in 2020. This collaboration underscores TCS's commitment to strengthen cooperation on digital transition at the local level, ensuring improved quality of life, innovative delivery of public services and strengthened regional competitiveness in the three countries.
