On November 13, 2023, the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) delegation led by Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup, attended the Opening Ceremony of the 2023 China Yiwu Imported Commodities Fair, the 4th Zhejiang International Friendship Cities Exchange Exhibition.
After the ceremony, SG LEE met with Mr. LUO Huayong, Yiwu Municipal Government Party Member, and director of the Management Committee of Yiwu Comprehensive Bonded Zone. Mr. LUO warmly welcomed TCS delegation, and introduced the economical development of Yiwu city, especially for cross-border e-commerce. He pointed out that Yiwu is planning to invite more international individuals to start their business in Yiwu. SG LEE appreciated the welcome from the Yiwu side. He emphasized the importance and necessity of enhancing trilateral cooperation, while Yiwu could serve as a small commodity commercial center, and radiate this influence from East Asia to the Asia Pacific, and even the world.
After the official meeting, SG LEE also attended the Opening Ceremony of UCLG ASPAC Public Space, and planted the first tree in the friendship wood.
