On October 20, 2023, TCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup attended the 9th China-Japan-Korea Industries Expo and delivered congratulatory remarks at the 2023 China-Japan-Korea Industrial Cooperation & Development Forum. This event was hosted by China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), Shandong Provincial Government, Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and TCS. The Expo has been successfully held for eight years in Weifang, China.

In his remarks, Secretary-General LEE emphasized that the Trilateral Summit will soon resume for the first time since the 2019 summit in Chengdu, China. The China-Japan-Korea Industries Expo held in Weifang holds profound and timely significance. TCS, as an international organization established with the vision of promoting lasting peace, common prosperity, and shared culture among China, Japan, and Republic of Korea, is eager to seize this opportunity to serve as a bridge for strengthening cooperation among the three countries. It aims to support the expansion of the Expo’s influence within the framework of 21 ministerial-level meetings that cover a wide range of policy areas, infusing vitality into trilateral cooperation in the post-epidemic era.

In his speech, he also expressed gratitude to Shandong Province and Weifang City for their role in strengthening cooperation among local governments and for being at the forefront of trilateral cooperation. He also conveyed his appreciation to the organizers for their dedicated efforts. TCS will persist in collaborating with all stakeholders to facilitate more profound exchanges among China, Japan, and the ROK, thereby initiating a new chapter in trilateral cooperation.

With the theme “Openness, Inclusiveness, Cooperation, and Mutual Benefits,” this year’s Expo invited dignitaries, envoys, representatives of business associations, renowned enterprises, experts, and scholars from the three countries to engage in exchanges and seminar discussions. The topics included delivering practical outcomes of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), deepening cooperation among local governments, and ensuring the stability of industrial and supply chains within the three countries.
