On August 22, the 3rd Northeast Asia Cooperation Roundtable was held in Changchun, China. TCS Deputy Secretary-General BEK Bumhym delivered speech at the Roundtable. The Roundtable invited leaders from local governments in the five Northeast Asian countries to discuss various topics centered on the theme “Sharing New Opportunities, Seeking New Development”. 

In his speech, DSG BEK emphasized the significance of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), which stands as the sole multilateral trade agreement signed by China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. He highlighted that the RCEP holds the potential to serve as a new catalyst for economic growth in East Asia. DSG BEK further mentioned that local governments in the three countries, including Jilin, can actively contribute to strengthening cooperation through the RCEP framework. He expressed that TCS would maintain closer communication with local governments in the three countries and further enhance cooperation efforts. 

On August 23, DSG BEK delivered opening remarks at the 2023 Northeast Asia Business Cooperation Forum, hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Jilin Provincial People's Government. In his remarks, he emphasized the potential of the fourth industrial revolution and high value-addition industries to enhance the economic landscape of the three countries. He highlighted the importance of establishing an open and friendly relationship in the Northeast Asia, which is crucial for the prosperity of regional economies. 

The 3rd Northeast Asia Cooperation Roundtable and the 2023 Northeast Asia Business Cooperation Forum are two events that fall under the 14th China-Northeast Asia Expo, which is a national-level exhibition approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China. It is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), and the People’s Government of Jilin Province.
