On August 1, 2023, H.E. XING Haiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Korea held a dinner for Secretary-General Amb. OU Boqian and Deputy Secretaries-General BEK Bumhym and SAKATA Natsuko at the Embassy to bid farewell to the 6th Consultative Board of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS.) 

Secretary-General OU thanked Amb. XING and his team’s longstanding support to TCS. She briefed on the major achievements of the 6th TCS Board to promote Trilateral Cooperation in fields of policy dialogue, people to people exchanges, economic cooperation, mutual perception betterment and others, underscoring that Trilateral Cooperation nowadays attaches more significance to the three countries and beyond against the dynamic changes of the world. She introduced the upcoming TCS events in China, including the Trilateral Youth Summit, the Trilateral Rural Leaders Exchange Program and the Trilateral Environmental Teachers’ Exchange Program to be held in August, and TCS capacity building plans, hoping that the aforementioned endeavors by the 6th TCS Board would contribute to the sustainable development of the Trilateral Cooperation in the long run. She sought further support from the Embassy in the coming days. 

Speaking highly of the 6th TCS Board’s contribution during their tenure in the past two years, Amb. XING highlighted that many novel but significant projects were carried out by TCS against all odds, which injected strong impetus into the steady momentum of the development of Trilateral Cooperation. Reaffirming that the Trilateral Cooperation is being in the course of a kick-start which was asserted by the top diplomats of the three countries at the TCS annual flagship event “International Forum for Trilateral Cooperation (IFTC) 2023” and in other occasions recently, he assured continued supports from the Embassy on Trilateral Cooperation in future, adding that it is vital for the three countries to work together as cooperation would benefit all especially the neighbors. He appreciated the 6th TCS Board members on their collective and tremendous endeavors and extended best wishes to them. 

Deputy Secretaries-General BEK and SAKATA thanked the commitment of the Chinese government to support the Trilateral Cooperation.
