On July 8-9, 2023, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) delegation
led by Secretary-General Amb. OU Boqian, paid a visit to Yiwu City
in Zhejiang Province of China. Mr. WANG Jian, Party Secretary of
Yiwu City, and Mr. LUO Zupan, Mayor of Yiwu City warmly received
TCS delegation. Mr. WANG Wen, Executive Dean of Chongyang
Institute for Financial Studies of Renmin University of China joined
the visit as well. The two sides exchanged views on a number of matters
regarding trade, supply chain, and economic development and
cooperation, especially the cross-border e-commerce under the RCEP
framework.
TCS delegation visited the China Yiwu International Trade Mart, Ecommerce
Town and Yiwu-Xinjiang-Europe cargo train. SG Ou
inspected the supply and sale of goods by local merchants, the
reduction of import and export tariffs under the RCEP framework, as
well as the awareness and utilization of RCEP rules by small and
medium-sized enterprises. She emphasized that cross-border ecommerce,
as a new business form, has achieved pioneering
development in Yiwu City, and the local experience should be learned,
spread and further cultivated to promote economic connectivity
between China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea.
