On July 25, 2019, TCS delegation headed by Deputy Secretary-General HAN Mei attended the ASEAN-China Intelligent Industry Conference in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on July 25, 2019. The Conference was themed “Innovation Leading Development”, aiming to deepen cooperation in the areas of science, technology and innovation, and for the purpose of smart industry and sustainable development. 

DSG HAN delivered remark titled “Joint Efforts for East Asia Cooperation in Innovation-On the 20th Anniversary of Trilateral Cooperation” at the opening session. She highlighted the tremendous change brought by the 4th Industrial Revolution and innovation, new science and technology being the key drives for addressing global challenges, contributing to sustainable development and improving human life. Meanwhile, she recognized the current challenges caused by protectionism and emphasized the inevitable trend of globalization and the significance of cooperation. 

DSG Han introduced the economic situation in East Asia, especially in CJK countries, as well as trilateral cooperation. She indicated the leaders’ strong will in cooperating in innovation at the 21st APT and 7th Trilateral Summit. She encouraged knowledge and know-how sharing in technology and innovation in the region. In the end, she affirmed that TCS’ strong willingness to cooperate with relevant regional stakeholders to steadily promote collaboration in innovation.

In the afternoon, the “Smart FinTech-Guiding for the Future” session was held where representatives from business and finance sectors such as Xiaomi Finance and Asia Pacific Investment Bank introduced the current and future development of Fintech. 

The Conference was organized by the ASEAN-China Center, Mission of China to ASEAN, Consulate General of China in Ho Chi Minh City and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives of governments, business associations, corporates, regional organizations from ASEAN and CJK countries attended the Conference.
