Professor Lee Eun-jeung, Vice Director of Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS) of Freie University Berlin, visited TCS office on October 31, 2014 and exchanged views on the trilateral cooperation with Deputy Secretary-General Lee Jong-heon.
DSG Lee briefed on the function of the TCS and the progress of trilateral cooperation achieved over the past years, by highlighting the importance of Track II dialogue to facilitate mutual understanding and provide strategic insights for the trilateral cooperation.
Professor Lee spoke highly of TCS’ role in advancing trilateral cooperation. Sharing the European’s experience on regional integration, Prof. Lee pointed out that it is important to promote people-to-people exchange, particularly among the youth of the three countries.
The two sides agreed to explore future cooperation on issues of common interest, such as wartime history issues, confidence building measures in Northeast Asia, etc.
