Others UNISDR Chief of Regional Programmes and DRR Coordinator Visited the TCS 2015.07.09

On July 9th, 2015, Mr. Neil McFarlane, Chief of Regional Programmes and Disaster Risk Reduction Coordinator of United Nations Office for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) visited the TCS office and had exchange with Deputy Secretary-General Mr. CHEN Feng and Mr. LEE Jong-heon on disaster risk reduction (DRR).  

Mr. McFarlane introduced the outcomes of World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction (WCDRR), which was convened in Sendai, Japan in March this year, and discussed about a possible way to strengthen the cooperative relationship between TCS and UNISDR by supporting China, Japan and Korea to meet commitments made in Sendai Conference. The two sides also exchanged opinions on the possibility of jointly organizing a training workshop on DRR for disaster management related officials of the three countries. 

Mr. McFarlane also gave a presentation to TCS staff on WCDRR and Sendai framework for Disaster Risk Reduction (2015-2030) and its implications for trilateral cooperation on disaster preparedness and risk managing.
