TC Activities TCS co-hosted the 2015 Trilateral Youth Summit with ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs

2015 Trilateral Youth Summit was held on August 24th to 28th at Seoul, Republic of Korea (ROK). The event was co-hosted by the TCS and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK as last year.
30 student representatives selected by the three countries’ Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed ways to facilitate the trilateral cooperation, suggesting an insightful vision for its future. Students were divided into three mixed-nationality teams representing the three governments with an aim to provide participants chances to think and understand perspectives of the other nations.
For the three days of 24th to 26th, the teams hold preparatory meetings for the Model Trilateral Summit, divided into three committees of environment, economy and culture. Throughout the meetings, 3 students representing the TCS recorded the progress of the discussion. The outcomes of the meetings were presented in the form of the progress report written by the TCS delegation and joint statements of the three countries at the Model Trilateral Summit on 27th.
Trilateral Youth Summit is one of the prominent youth exchange events among the ROK, Japan and China. At the 7th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in March 21st, it was suggested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the ROK as one of the new trilateral cooperative projects. In the joint press release of the Meeting, the three Foreign Ministers decided to newly promote this event.
