On February 11, 2025, TCS Secretary-General LEE Hee-sup met with a delegation from NEAR*, led by Secretary-General LIM Byung-jin, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation.
The two Secretary-Generals discussed their major project plans for the year, including the NEAR Workshop, NEAR General Assembly, and TCS' youth programs, and agreed to explore potential areas for future collaboration between their organizations. They also recognized the vital role of local governments in enhancing regional cooperation and committed to expanding local-level partnerships.
*NEAR(The Association of North East Asia Regional Governments) is an independent cooperative organization that strives to achieve mutual development and cooperative exchange in Northeast Asia, consisting of metropolitan and local self-governing governments of six countries including the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, the Democratic Republic of Korea, Mongolia, and the Russian Federation.
