Others TCS Delegation Paid Courtesy Call to Japanese Ministries and Partners in Tokyo, Japan 2020-01-15 ~ 2020-01-17

The new board members of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat(TCS), headed by Secretary-General MICHIGAMI Hisashi paid a courtesy call to Japanese ministries and partners in Tokyo on January 15-17, 2020. TCS Deputy Secretary-General CAO Jing and KANG Do Ho attended the meetings.


On January 15, the TCS delegation met with Mr. MIYAHARA Takashi, Senior Deputy Director-General of the International Bureau of the Ministry of Finance. TCS introduced the Secretariat’s activities and its contribution to promoting trilateral cooperation. The board also underlined that TCS is ready to support the trilateral cooperation in the finance field. Mr. MIYAHARA recognized the importance of TCS’s role, in bridging the three countries and looked forward to future cooperation with TCS.

TCS delegation also met with Mr. MUKUTA Satoshi, Senior Managing Director of Keidanren. TCS congratulated the success of the 7th China-Japan-Korea Business Summit held on December 24 in Chengdu, China and expressed the appreciation of Keidanren’s continuous support to TCS. Mr. MUKUTA recognized the importance of TCS’s activities to promote the trilateral cooperation, and both parties agreed to enhance the partnership to strengthen the cooperation among China, Japan, and Korea in the business and economy field.

On January 17, TCS delegation met with Mr. HIROSE Naoshi, Director-General of the Trade Policy Bureau of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI). The board congratulated the success of the 12th Trilateral Economic and Trade Ministers' Meeting. The TCS also introduced its contribution to economy and trade mechanism and hoped to further contribute to the mechanism. Mr. HIROSE highly valued and appreciated the contribution by TCS and hoped to enhance the cooperation between TCS and METI.

On the same day, TCS delegation met with Mr. SASAKI Nobuhiko, Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO). TCS expressed gratitude for continuous cooperation between TCS and JETRO through various programs in the economy and trade area and introduced the progress of trilateral cooperation and TCS’ current activities. Mr. SASAKI expressed appreciation for cooperation with TCS, and both sides agreed to strengthen the collaboration.

TCS delegation also met with Mr. KONDO Tomohiro, Director-General of the Global Environment Bureau of the Ministry of the Environment. TCS congratulated the success of the 21st Tripartite Environmental Minister’s Meeting. Mr. KONDO expressed the appreciation to the TCS’ contribution to the mechanism, and two parties exchanged the views on further cooperation to promote trilateral environmental cooperation.
