Mechanisms 7th Trilateral Tourism Ministers' Meeting in Tokyo 2015.04.12
The 7th Trilateral Tourism Ministers' Meeting was held on April 12, 2015 in Tokyo, Japan. The Meeting was presided by Mr. OHTA Akihiro, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan with the participation of Mr. LI Jinzao, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration, and Mr. KIM Jong-deok, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea. Mr. CHEN Feng, Deputy Secretary-General of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) also attended the meeting as an observer. 

At the meeting, the three Ministers reviewed the progress and achievement of trilateral cooperation on tourism in past four years and discussed the further cooperation under three main agendas including 1) A new area of tourism exchange among Japan, China and the ROK, 2) Promotion of “Visit East Asia Campaign”, 3) Quality enhancement of trilateral tourism exchange. The three Ministers reached consensus on making the joint efforts in increasing the visitor numbers among the three countries from 20 million in 2014 up to 30 million by 2020. Moreover, they agreed to launch “Visit East Asia Campaign”, which is a joint regional tourism project to attract the visitors from the regions beyond East Asia such as America and European countries. 

After the meeting, the three Ministers held a joint press conference and signed the Joint Statement of the 7th meeting which included the expectation on strengthening the cooperation with the TCS in facilitating mutual exchange, regional exchange and culture-sports-youth exchange among the three countries. 

“Trilateral Tourism Exchange Forum” took place as the sideline event of the 7th Trilateral Tourism Ministers' Meeting with the participation of the private travel agencies and relevant organizations of the three countries. 

The next meeting will be held in Wuhan, China in 2016.
