Mechanisms 6th Trilateral Culture Ministers’ Meeting Held in Yokohama, Japan. 2014.11.29 ~ 2014.11.30
The 6th Trilateral Culture Ministers’ Meeting was held in Yokohama, Japan from November 29th to 30th, 2014, with the participation of Mr. SHIMOMURA Hakubun, Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, Mr. KIM Jong Deok, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of ROK and Mr. YANG Zhijin, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture. The Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) attended the Meeting as an observer. 

The three Ministers reviewed the progress of the implementation measures of “Shanghai Action Plan” (2012) including East Asian Cultural Cities, Trilateral Arts Festival, and Trilateral Arts & Education Forum. The Ministers also signed “Yokohama Joint Statement of the Sixth Trilateral Culture Ministers’ Meeting” which stipulates series of decisions to further the cooperation to promote culture, arts and youth exchange, preserve cultural assets and develop cultural industry.  

At the press conference after the Meeting, Niigata of Japan, Qingdao of China and Cheongju of ROK were designated as 2015 East Asian Cultural Cities which will engage in vibrant cultural exchanges and programs throughout the year. 

The next Meeting will be convened in China, 2015 in which new action plan to enhance the trilateral cooperation in culture will be adopted.
