On December 12, 2022, Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS) SG OU Boqian had a meeting with Ambassador Ganbold Baasanjav, Head of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) East and North-East Asia Office to discuss future collaborative projects between TCS and UNESCAP. 

SG OU firstly shared the recent developments at TCS, and introduced the upcoming projects in 2023, including the 2nd Forum on Carbon Neutrality Goals of China, Japan, and the Republic of Korea (Carbon Neutrality Forum), which is to be co-organized with UNESCAP and the Climate Action Team at the Executive Office of the Secretary-General of the United Nations (EOSG/CAT). SG shared the current progress of TCS’ forum preparation and expressed her gratitude to UNESCAP Office for their cooperation in organizing the event. 

Amb. Ganbold Baasanjav also shared UNESCAP East and North-East Asia Office’s latest projects and events, as well as updating TCS on UNESCAP’s endeavors in preparing the Carbon Neutrality Forum. Furthermore, he invited TCS to join the 79th UNESCAP Commission Session, which is scheduled in Bangkok, Thailand on May 2023. He also suggested various new collaboration ideas with TCS for next year, and expressed his hopes to continue cooperation with TCS in the future. 

The meeting concluded with both heads reaffirming the need to work closely with each other and explore new joint project opportunities.
