On 26 November 2020, TCS Deputy Secretary-General CAO Jing participated in the Trilateral Web-Based Information Exchange Meeting on Nuclear Safety. Convened under the framework of the Trilateral Top Regulators’ Meeting on Nuclear Safety (TRM), the meeting was attended by representatives of the Nuclear Regulation Authority of Japan (NRA), the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (National Nuclear Safety Administration) of China (MEE/NNSA) and the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission of the Republic of Korea (NSSC). 

In her remarks, DSG CAO spoke highly of the progress of the trilateral cooperation on nuclear safety since the launch of the TRM in 2008, called for more collaboration among stakeholders in the background of COVID-19, and reiterated the commitment of the TCS to work closer with the three authorities to promote trilateral nuclear safety cooperation. 

At the meeting, the regulatory authorities of the three countries updated nuclear safety regulatory activities in each country, and had a view exchange on other topics of common interest. They committed to furthering trilateral cooperation on nuclear safety.
